We put the American Football Away...((5/23/16)

Playing Soccer
This week was pretty good! Just same ol' same ol'.. Missionary work and stuff! The weather here lately has been crap though!! So much rain and coldness I hate it! But anyway the work has been pretty good I guess. This week we went door to door in a big apartment building which is actually the first time I have done that since being here in Kosovo. It was pretty good actually! We met this guy that was Atheist and he would not let us in his house ha but we talked with him at his doorstep for 45 minutes! It was pretty funny. We had a pretty good discussion and were able to give him a Book of Mormon so that was good!

Later this week we played soccer with the branch it was a lot of fun. I brought an American Football and was teaching some of the members how to throw it.. they were pretty awful haha. Then I threw one to this member and didn't know how to catch it so it hit him in the face and gave him a bloody nose... SO we put the American Football away and just stuck to European "Football" (Soccer)

We've been wearing sunglasses since they made the announcement that we could!

Another thing to mention is that we met with a family! The first time I have taught an entire family my whole mission. It was super awesome! They have a lot of potential, we are praying for them to read the Book of Mormon and feel of the sweet spirit that comes from it.

Also Prishtina is getting its first baptism in almost a year this Saturday so that is super exciting! The work is GOOD! Love you all!

Albanian Funeral (5/17/16)

This is a look out from where he was buried
All of our english course flyers!
This was a really crazy week!  I will just get right into it, so on Friday we got a call that a member of our branch died. He was pretty old and pretty sick but I thought that he was going to have a little more time so it was sad that it happened like that. So Albanian tradition is to have the funeral ASAP so the funeral was held the next day. It was in such a pretty place in the middle of the forest. The funeral was really good! We were able to meet some really nice people, and I guess he requested to have an American Flag on his casket so there was one just because he loved America! He was such a cool guy. Then when they were starting to bury him someone handed me a shovel and said that it would mean a lot if an American helped bury him so I got the shovel and helped! It was pretty weird but cool at the same time I guess?

This is the little building that we meet at at the Military Base!

Anyways, another fun thing that we do here is advertise our English Course to people. I guess it is just us making it fun but still it is pretty fun. We get like a crap load of flyers for it and we hand it out in the coolest ways to people. Like I hand it to people in cars that are driving by or through cracks in walls it is pretty funny. (Probably not funny to you normal people, but us missionaries do what we need to to be entertained)

We also were able to go to the US base again this week and eat Taco Bell again. I just thought that needed to be mentioned as well.
Anyway I love you all!

Taco Bell (5/9/16)

TACO BELL!!  American food on the military base in Kosovo
This week was really good. Mainly because I got to eat a lot of American food and I was able to talk to my family! The weather here has been pretty crappy lately. Last Monday it was like super hot in the morning then it started to snow in the evening! Pretty crazy. Then every day after that was cold and rainy, but I guess that this next week it will be really hot so I am looking forward to that!

Taking some home!
During the week we were able to play soccer at like this really cool indoor stadium it was a lot of fun! There were a lot of really good people there but I was actually able to compete pretty good! I will attach some pictures of that.

Soccer in Macedonia
We also went to the US military base and I was able to eat Taco Bell! It was so really really nice. When I took the first bite I thought that I felt some tears coming on but I was able to hold them back. It was a pretty great part of my mission so far :)

Then later in the week we were able to go to Macedonia for a zone training which was pretty cool! The city was beautiful. It had a lot of really cool sites to see except for there were a lot of protests before so they were all covered in like paint and stuff haha. Also some of the Macedonian missionaries taught me some Macedonian so I was saying everything that I knew to everyone on the street and then when they talked back I didn't know what to say ha it was pretty funny. And then we were able to eat Dominoes there so that was nice! I was just full of American food this week!
Cool arch in Macedonia
This is the church building in Macedonia, it is just a big house
they bought and made into a church building.

Then on Sunday I was able to talk to my amazing family for Mothers Day! They are all great. Love them all!

Have a great week! Love you all! Elder Farnworth

The Lord is helping us every step of the way. (5/2/16)

Me and Elder Samuel reenacting an MTC picture :)
This week was really good! The start of the week I was able to go on a missionary exchange with my District Leader, Elder Samuel (my MTC companion) so we were able to be together for a couple of days it was so much fun! It was just like old times! It is such a blessing that I get to serve with him here in Prishtina. We were able to be together on our 6 month mark of our missions, so we were able to burn our ties together, I will send pictures of that :) But yeah it was a lot of fun. Then we had a Zone Conference where me and Elder Samuel sang a duet in front of all of the missionaries! It was pretty scary, but a lot of fun! Then the Zone Conference was fun. So far every single Zone Conference the Mission President has picked on me to do the role plays in front of everyone. It is always pretty funny, but scary at the same time!
So later this week we were pretty blessed with some amazing lesson. It is amazing to see how the Lord prepares people to hear our message, even if they don't even know it! We have this one guy at our English Course class, who at the beginning of it would tell us all the time that he is a strong Muslim and he is only here to learn English and is not interested in our church at all and all that stuff. But then last week he started asking millions of questions about what we believe we had like an hour discussion with him and he said he wants to read the Book of Mormon and stuff now!
My Albanian traditional hat!
Then this other guy named Agron has a really sick dad (his dad is a member) So we visit his dad a lot to see how is and stuff, and at first when we met Agron he didn't care about our religion at all or anything. But as he has been seeing us more he has been asking us more about the Plan of Salvation and that sparked something, so now he wants to meet with us and he is bringing his uncle from Sweden and a few friends. We have been so blessed this past week with all of those amazing experiences! The Lord is helping us here every step of the way and we are so blessed!
Next week I get to go to the US base again then I get to go to Macedonia for a Zone Conference! I am pretty excited it will be my first time in Macedonia so that will be a lot of fun.
Anyway, I love you all! Have a great week!

Hand of the Lord (4/25/16)

Last P-day we went on a hike in Peja.
This week I had the crazy experience of my mission so far! It was pretty insane. So one day we are in the church and this guy with a beard walks in the church and sees me and just kind of starts smiling. I kind of get confused so I just talk to him and he asks me if he remembers him.. Then I really it was a guy named Edi that I taught in Elbasan! I just didn't recognize him with his beard haha. But we weren't able to baptize him in Elbasan because we got transferred to Shkoder, now I guess I need to here in Prishtina!! But it was so cool because he remember me! It was so crazy we saw each other again in like a different country! God place people where they need to be to hear the Gospel I guess!

Other than that this week was just pretty normal. I guess I could talk about last Pday, we took a trip to a place called Peja it was so amazing! We went on an amazing hike it was so beautiful. Then there was this waterfall end that wasn't that great but the hike was still amazing. But yeah.. Just living it up here in Kosovo! This really is just the best mission ever I know I am having experience that I will remember the rest of my life and that is such a blessing!  I love this mission so much.

Love you all!
